Raquel Tuston / CHOICE Ecuador Director
Raquel was born in Ecuador and has many years of experience working with the nutritional small-scale agriculture model. She worked as a project manager for the Benson Institute for 13 years in Ecuador prior to working for ISRA (Feed the World). She also has experience working in public health and as a clinical nutritionist for 3 years. She has additional training in sustainable agriculture, family development and family health, biometrics, epidemiology, scientific information management, and nutrition for the rural poor.
Raquel has a master’s degree in nutrition from the Universidad Central del Ecuador and a doctorate in dietetics from the Escuela Superior Politecnica de Chimborazo where she was also valedictorian. Raquel has a natural talent to communicate and negotiate with other organizations. Because of Raquel, ISRA has a strong partnership with the National University of Ibarra and other universities. She has written extensively on nutrition, agriculture development, the small-scale agriculture model, and evaluations of existing programs for the sustenance of the rural poor. Raquel also speaks English, is a wife and mother to two great children, and resides in Ibarra, Ecuador.
Sixto Stalin Tuston / Gobierno Autonomo Decentralizado Project Consultant
Sixto Tuston is the Coordinator of Strategic Management and Development for CHOICE Ecuador. He is from Baños – Ecuador. He studied Agricultural Engineering and has a postgraduate degree in Local Community Development Management. He is married and has three children, two boys, and a girl. He is responsible for coordinating projects with the local governments as well as the institutional, economic and technical management for CHOICE Ecuador’s development projects.
Pablo Raul Andrade / Agronomist / UNOPAC
Pablo is from Ibarra, Ecuador. He lives on a property with an extensive land and he has taken advantage of this for agricultural and animal production. He has two brothers and a daughter. He likes volleyball and reading agronomy books. He studied agricultural engineering at the Technical University of the North, during his university studies; he participated in some academic, sports, social events and programs with the intervention of young people from other countries. He has a master's degree in Local Community Development Management.
Marina Belen Morocho Roman / Admin Assistant / Expeditions
Marina has a Master's Degree in Tourism Management. As a professional, she worked at the University of Otavalo and the Technical University of the North as a teacher and coordinator of projects related to the community. She loves nature and animals and working for those who need it most. She finds that the best part of life is serving others.
