Can one person make a difference? Can one dollar make a difference? Can one volunteer hour make a difference?
One person saw a need for help in the rural villages of Peru in 1982. That one person, Dr. Tim Evans started the organization we now know as CHOICE Humanitarian, an organization that has been the catalyst for improving tens of thousands of lives the world over since 1982.
But what can one dollar do? In Kikonde, Kenya one dollar can buy enough flour to feed a family of four for a month. Even better, one dollar can buy enough flour to make extra loaves of bread, and hence a small profit in a micro-enterprise. One dollar can begin to change the fate of family living in poverty.
And one hour? Anybody who's participated as a volunteer on a CHOICE expedition knows that answer. An hour can mean a jobless father learning a new skill or a mother learning about basic care for a new born baby. An hour can mean sharing stories as friends. An hour can mean giving hope where none existed.
CHOICE Humanitarian exists because of one person. Anything you give does indeed make a difference. A million smiles and million thank you's to the many, many CHOICE Humanitarian contributors!
