Revving up for CHOICE
by Roger Brown
The experience of a lifetime
The first annual "Hawgs for Humanity" ride in July was a "thundering" success. Over 50 motorcycle riders enjoyed the spectacular scenery of the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and the Snake River valley during a three day excursion in July. Ride organizers Roy Hammond and Bob Johnson agreed that the event is definitely worthy of a "2nd Annual" plan. From Kelly's Roadhouse in Evanston, Wyoming to breakfast at Mesa Falls on the Snake River, riders soaked in the experience of a lifetime.
25,000 dollars for CHOICE
Even more exciting was the incredible fund raising effort for CHOICE. On
the morning of July 12th before Orem police proudly stopped traffic to allow
the long string of bikers to hit the open road, Roy Hammond presented CHOICE CEO Linda Smith with a check for 25,000 dollars. The donation was a combination of rider donations, pledges and ride auction proceeds from the CHOICE Gala in October, 2000.

Hawgs for Humanity riders enjoyed spectacular scenery including Wyoming's majestic Teton Mountains.
2002 bigger and better
Never to be outdone by yesterday's achievements, Roy and Bob say 2002's 2nd Annual "Hawgs for Humanity" ride will be even bigger, better and twice as loud. On May 16 - 18, 2002 riders will take in four national parks and three national monuments. Bob Johnson's skillfully planned route winds through Canyonlands, Lake Powell, Capitol Reef, Grand Staircase, Bryce, Arches and more with a host of scenic stops along the way. There is even a party at Eddie McStiff's in Moab, Utah. Newcomers and seasoned veterans alike will find the 2nd Annual "Hawgs for Humanity" ride an awesome adventure.
