Efficient and Effective
CHOICE Humanitarian is deeply committed to being the best steward of your gifts. As an organization that not only meets but exceeds the standards set by all groups that monitor the nonprofit sector, we are proud that all donations are put to the best possible use in ending extreme poverty. Organized in 1982, CHOICE Humanitarian is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. CHOICE is an acronym for The Center for Humanitarian Outreach and Inter-Cultural Exchange.
From our guiding principle to running an upstanding nonprofit organization to our efforts to monitor all our work at our headquarters and in the field, to our audits of our country programs in addition to external audits, we take accountability seriously. Charity Navigator, Guidestar, Great Nonprofits, and the Better Business Bureau all endorse CHOICE Humanitarian with the highest possible ranking due to our fiscal responsibility and transparency.
Donor gifts allow us to train village healthcare workers, teach best agricultural practices to farmers, and build schools, hospitals, and water system. Gifts always allow us to administer our programs and raise more funds. The cost of these overhead expenses as a central indicator of our performance is a misconception. GuideStar, BBB Wise Giving Alliance, and Charity Navigator wrote an open letter to the donors of America in a campaign to end the Overhead Myth—the false conception that financial ratios are the sole indicator of nonprofit performance.
We encourage you to read our Audited Financial Statements, Annual Reports, and Form 990s to see the impact of your donations and our work. CHOICE Humanitarian provides a financial statement from a certified independent auditor, HEB Business Solutions, every year.

Our Leveraging Model
Your investment is multiplied four to five times per dollar in on-the-ground impact. The village contributes labor and resources. The local government and partner organizations contribute additional funds, materials, and training all of which add up to a multiplicative effect on your donation’s impact. Such investments culminate in extreme efficiency and link communities to all available resources, both driving efficient development and helping the communities learn to leverage their own local partners.
