All CHOICE's humanitarian expeditions strive to accomplish the same goal: to challenge participants and villagers alike to change their worldview. No matter what type of expedition you choose to attend, we want you to return home with a new understanding of poverty, development and what role you can play in village progress.

CHOICE offers three types of humanitarian expeditions to suit your abilities and desired comfort level.

Village Expeditions
Village Expeditions offer the most village intensive experience. Participants eat, sleep, learn and work in the village for five to six days. North American Leaders help the group prepare for their trip and travel in the country alongside participants. All Village Expeditions spend time outside the village preparing for or winding down from the intense village experience while learning more about the area's culture and history. Village projects typically include building classrooms, greenhouses or water systems. Families are welcome, though age limits do apply. Group size runs from 15-25 participants.

World Explorer Expeditions
For those who want the benefits of a village expedition without its discomforts, CHOICE offers World Explorer Expeditions. These expeditions allow participants to be in the village by day, but then sleep in hotel beds and eat in local restaurants. While in the village, participants can choose to lend a hand at an ongoing project, work on an observational assignment, or shadow a villager through the day to gain a glimpse of how difficult daily life is in a village. Local experts will lead lively discussions about poverty, development and local history and culture to help participants better understand the lives of the villagers. Expedition Hosts will accompany the group throughout the entire trip. Smaller group sizes, up to 15 participants, provide for a more intimate learning environment.

Executive Expeditions
Executive Expeditions provide potential contributors a chance to see CHOICE's development work first-hand. U.S.-based hosts accompany three to four participants in short country tours designed to accommodate busy schedules. Accommodations are first-class, and the travel pace is swift. Executive Expeditions are not regularly scheduled. Interested parties should contact the CHOICE office for details.
